Back to School - Alpha Phi Chapter of DKG Takes Action

What do you think of when you hear ‘back to school”? Students, educators, school supplies, and school clothes might come to mind. Alpha Phi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, an International Society of Professional Women Educators, took the back to school challenge recently by engaging in multiple back to school outreach projects. The initial project provided back to school clothing for children at the ABCCM Transformation Village, a community that supports women of domestic violence and their children. The next back to school projects included the collection of school supplies and snacks for educators. The mounds of materials were organized into welcome gift bags for the Beginning Teacher and for the New Employees Orientation held for Buncombe County Schools. Alpha Phi was represented at each event in order to welcome educators to the profession and to the community.
